The women's volleyball team finished their 2009 season on Nov. 7, at the NEAC Championship Tournament played at Penn State-Berks in Reading, PA. The Mustangs lost tough matches to Keuka College on Nov. 6 and both Penn State-Berks and the University of Dallas on Nov. 7, ending their season with an overall record of 13-16.

On Nov. 6, the top-seeded Mustangs faced fifth-seed Keuka College, losing to the Storm in three games with scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-22. "We were just flat right off the bat, they beat us three," said head coach Brian Ellithorpe. "We just couldn't do anything right and they did everything right."

Morrisville State volleyball is coached by Ellithorpe who joined the Mustangs in 2007 with help from assistant coach Jeremy Cook, who started coaching the team in 2006. Together, the coaching-combo helped the team become undefeated in NEAC play, coaching two outside hitters to NEAC all-conference players: first-team all-conference senior Amanda Britton and second-team all-conference junior Ebony Whitfield.

During matches on Nov. 7, the Mustangs fell short against the number eighth-seed, Penn State-Berks. The Mustangs won the first and third games of the match with scores of 25-20 and 25-13, stretching the match to five games. The Nittany Lions answered with wins in the second, fourth and fifth games, beating the Mustangs with close scores of 25-20, 25-21 and 15-7. The Mustangs lost the match in five, giving Morrisville State its second loss of the tournament.
