Add another loss for the women's basketball team, as they lost to Keuka College Jan. 27. Their losing continued when they played Penn State-Abington, Penn State Berks and SUNY Cobleskill Falling to 3-18 on the season.

On Wednesday, Jan. 27, they had their first home game since Jan. 3, when they won against Penn State-Harrisburg. Since then, the Mustangs have gone 1-9 with a current eight-game losing streak, a season high.

"They are still learning," head coach Sean Pinkerton, said team after the Harrisburg game. "At times our defense isn't there and we allow many open looks." He added that the team is still having the same issues on the court with shooting the ball poorly and not playing good defense.

"We are a team that shoots a low percentage," said Pinkerton. "We can't win if we allow the other team to score in the 50 range." The team struggled to score points at times, like on Feb. 3, when the team only had 12 points at half time against SUNY Cobleskill.

Pinkerton said the team is still young and has much to improve on. The team consists of eight freshman and only four returning players. Four of the eight freshmen have been included in Pinkerton's seven- to eight-player rotation this season.

Their leading scorer and team captain, guard Tekesha Hanson, did not play for four straight games until the Jan. 31 loss to Penn State-Berks. When asked why she didn't play for that stretch of games, Pinkerton and team members did not comment on the matter.

"I feel like the girls can go somewhere if they all stay united and play hard every night, and they could start seeing results," fan Cortney Harris said. A losing season has some fans skeptical about going to the games because they don't see the team winning. However, fans like Cortney have reason to believed they could do better if they put in efforts like they did against Penn State-Abington and Penn State-Berks.
